SKG-331 - Seaside Hiking Tour
(2007)
A Family Friendly Tour
Enjoy a seaside hike with an
experienced Alaskan naturalist. After a ferry ride across Lynn Canal,
you'll meet your guide in Haines and enjoy a
scenic drive to the trailhead, where you leave the road behind and enter
the coastal rainforest. Your guide knows the way, will keep you safe from
bears, and will show you the hidden secrets of the forest. You’ll learn
the names of the wildflowers and birds you encounter along the way, which
trees the Tlingit natives used for totem poles and houses, and which
plants are the favored foods for porcupine, grizzly bears, and moose.
Enjoy some eagle watching and a snack of Alaska’s finest smoked salmon
served picnic style on the beach before returning to Haines.
